ANNUAL REPORT - 2013 Mission Numbers In 2013, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois served 5,563 people in many different ways, but with the same end goal – helping people attain the tools and resources necessary to find and keep jobs. Goodwill provided financial education services to 140 individuals, including courses in budgeting, goal setting, and financial management. In addition, Goodwill participated in Money Smart Week, serving 150 individuals, including children, and providing tools and resources with many community partners. Goodwill also provided free income tax preparation and filing services to 2,087 individuals and families, returning over $2,100,000 in refunds to our local communities. Goodwill's GoodGRAD Pre-GED Program provided GED scholarships for 72 individuals to take their tests and helped 36 students obtain their GED diploma. Goodwill’s training and employment programs, including computer skills, work readiness skills, job seeking skills, and work experience served 1,112 people. Goodwill placed 142 individuals into good jobs in our communities with an average wage of $9.42 per hour and an average schedule of 21 hours per week. The Let's Go to Work Program provided 50 individuals with disabilities the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a job coach, case management, and training. The program is currently functioning in Huntley, Freeport, McHenry, Sterling, Ottawa, and Crystal Lake (beginning in April 2014).. Our community service program helps individuals give back and earn valuable service hours for housing organizations, legal authorities and schools.
